US Legislation of Online Gambling Could Lead to a Gambling Boom

USA gambling legislationIt has been predicted by many US political experts that online gambling will be legislated throughout the country during 2011. This is after a legalization bill for making online gambling and bingo legal was narrowly voted out in December 2010. Presently US laws prohibit any US citizen to participate in online games that involve deposition of monetary resources. It is also against the law for operators of online bingo sites to knowingly accept deposits made by US citizens, and UK bingo operators take care to abide by this. However, operators in many other European countries don’t necessarily follow this rule and millions of dollars are resultantly leached out of the United States every year.

What the changes in law would mean for the online bingo world is that if the bill gets approved there could be dramatic changes from the present state of things. These changes, however, will not always be for the better. Given, the inflow of all the money would mean a tremendous rise in jackpot money, more promotions and bigger bonuses at all major bingo sites from UK, but along with this would come millions of more prospective buyers for the jackpot tickets.

The difference of 5 hours in the times of UK and US would mean that the people signing in for the UK bingo sites would need to play according to UK time zones. This will undoubtedly be a big opportunity for brand names such as Sky Bingo, Gaka and Virgin Bingo to cash in and so will many smaller players in the business as players frustrated by lack of winnings on big sites will later turn to them. The only wait now is to see when and what is the form of legislation which might be enacted by the US government.
