The company already operates properties in Las Vegas, Boston, China, and Macau, but the $3.9-billion Wynn Al Marjan Island venture is its most ambitious project yet.
The first Wynn project in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is set to be developed by the US gambling giant in collaboration with Marjan LL and RAK Hospitality Holding LLC. The new casino and entertainment resort is set to be hosted by the Ras Al Khaimah emirate, with the first guests scheduled to be welcomed in 2027.
Local Residents Will Benefit from New Jobs at Wynn’s Casino and Entertainment Resort Project
Apart from being Wynn Resorts’ first entity in the Middle East region, The Wynn Al Marjan Island is the first-ever beachfront project of the company. The property is planned as a 305-meter-tall luxurious building. The company’s CEO, Craig Billing, shared that Wynn’s board spent 2022 carefully planning the entire concept around the Wynn Al Marjan Island project, taking into account the unique location and its advantages.
According to reports, the American casino and hotel company has already broken ground, with the foundation of the property being currently under construction. It aims to establish the new resort as a nature-based, sustainable destination in one of the fastest-growing tourism markets in the MENA region, Ras Al Khaimah.
Reportedly, the new Wynn Resorts’ venue will include a range of gaming and entertainment amenities, revolutionizing the region’s sector, because Islamic nations usually have all gambling banned because of religious and cultural reasons. The planned establishment, however, is considered a shift towards a more diversified tourism and entertainment market to provide the visitors of the United Arab Emirates with a one-of-a-kind experience.
It was also reported that local residents will not have direct access to the casino area or other entertainment amenities at the Wynn Al Marjan Island. However, market analysts have noted that people who live in the area are likely to benefit from such a massive project that is set to create a large number of new jobs. Ras Al Khaimah is already considered one of the fastest-growing tourist zones on a global scale but, according to reports, things could go crazy around here after 2027 when the first casino and entertainment resort in the region starts operation.
