WPT Tournament of Champions to Welcome Exclusive Players this May

In the poker industry, there is rarely a time where nothing happens and there are no poker festivals in progress. Players willing to participate in such have the opportunity to do so at all times and the rich schedule of upcoming events of the World Poker Tour proves it with its upcoming and highly anticipated WPT Tournament of Champions which is scheduled to take place in May at the Aria Resort and Casino.

Up to this point all poker players who managed to make it far in the latest tournaments of the World Poker Tour, have had the chance to win one of the $15,000 entry into the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions coming with the first-place prize. Such was the case with the most recent WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown which took place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The winner in that poker tournament was the English poker player Scott Margereson who bagged a total of $696,740 for emerging victorious at the end of the tournament.

The winner at the WPT Amsterdam €3,300 Main Event also received the chance to join other accomplished players at the Tournament of Champions which is going to commence on 24th May. Rens Feenstra claimed the throne for some €156,370 and this also brought him a guaranteed spot at the upcoming championship. Each of the Main Event winners from the Main Tour also has the chance to have a spot with their name on one of the tables.

The major tournament is going to transform Aria into the most attractive poker location over the span of three days. The entire event will be filmed and broadcasted on FSN as a part of the Season XVI television series.

Timeline of the Poker Event

The buy-in for this event amounts to $15,000 but it should be taken into account that registering for participation is opened for members of the WPT Champions Club only. It could be said that this is the most exclusive event in the rich schedule of the WPT. However, this year there would be a change in the status quo, as it could be recalled that the previous two editions of the Tournament of Champions were hosted at the Seminole Hard Rock in Florida.

The winner of the first ever Tournament of Champions was Farid Yachou from Morocco. More recently he was the chip leader on Day 1 of the 2018 World Poker Tour Amsterdam Season 2017-2018 €3,300 Main Event. The year 2017 brought another winner of the second edition of WPT Tournament of Champions and this was Daniel Weinman from the US.

The final event which will offer spots to the Tournament will be the WPT Bobby Baldwin Classic. The said event is going to send its champion to the tournament starting on the 24th. The Final Table of the Tournament of Champions is set to take place at the new Esports Arena Las Vegas at Luxor Hotel and Casino.
