Philippines Westside City Developer to Invest Additional PHP54 Billion in Township

One of the future projects in the casino industry of the Philippines is expected to see a boost in its overall budget, as it has been confirmed recently by one of the project developers itself. Megaworld Corp. is considering pouring in an additional PHP54 billion in the construction process of the new Westside City project which is scheduled to welcome its first guests on 1st January 2019.

It could be recalled that the 31-hectare leisure and entertainment township, is located in Entertainment City and over the span of the following ten years the developer is going to oversee the introduction of the said amount of money into the improvement of the township. This move is expected to bring more profits for the business in the long run, since it has the potential to attract more tourists to the location.

Back in 2015, the company had another plan which succeeded in introducing as much as PHP10 billion to the improvement of the township, which was utilized for the construction of residential and hotel projects which in turn brought benefits to the gaming and entertainment industry in the region. In order to make the most of its current project, which should be finished and ready to launch at the beginning of next year, the property developer is planning to realize more residential facilities, as well as hotel accommodation towers.

Phase 1 of the Westside City Resorts World project is going to amount to 12 hectares and will include four hotels to the likings of the Okura Hotel Manila, Westin Hotel Manila Bayshore, operated by Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts Group, along with the Genting Grand and Crockfords Tower and Kingsford Hotel, which will be managed by Genting Hong Kong Group. The total number of hotel rooms which will be available for booking in the four hotels will then reach 1,500 rooms. In addition to that, all visitors will be able to enjoy a 3,000 seat grand Opera House located in the proximity.

Resorts World and Other Future Casino Locations

In the meantime, the casino developer of Resorts World in the Philippines, Travellers International Hotels Group, Inc. made an official announcement that it has decided to invest PHP57.4 billion in the construction of a new casino venue which will bear the brand Westside City Resorts World.

It is forecasted to open for business in 2021, following the targeted time for completion of Westside City, which should be towards the end of 2020. This second investment is going to increase the overall capital expenditure for the township to P121 billion guaranteeing exquisite experience for the guests and customers of the township.

Megaworld also confirmed plans for two brand new gambling locations within the borders of the township which should be finished for the official opening of the project. According to the information given, the first one will be named Kingsford Hotel and it will feature a total of 529 rooms available for booking, whereas the second one is going to be called Grand Westside Hotel and will add 685 rooms to the total count of the township.
