Significant Poker Festivals to be Held in June 2017

Poker is a game that is included in the selection of games in both land-based and online casinos. Thus, poker festivals have always been under the spotlight, especially among the poker fans. Every year, there are various poker events, organized by the different casino operators, which attract players all over the world. In fact, during the whole year, poker-enthusiasts can enjoy their favourite game, competing for the title of different poker events, held in different countries.

In the coming month, there are some interesting poker tournaments to be held. The fans of the game can find useful information about the most significant poker events to be held in June.

Manila Megastack 7 Event

The month will kick off with the popular PokerStars Live Manila Tournament. This will be the seventh Manila Megastack festival, which will take place from 29th May to 4th June at PokerStars Live at City of Dreams Manila. Traditionally, the 7-days festival will open with a Satellite to the Kick-off Event, followed by the Kick-off Event and Satellite to the Main Event. The champion will win not only a cash prize, but also a free seat in the Main Event.

As part of every PokerStars Tournament is the Main Event, which is said to be the most thrilling of all. Players will compete for the title on a No Limit Hold’em poker competition. The guaranteed prize pool of the Main Event is announced to be ₱8 Million and the buy-in for it is ₱30,000. The Kick-off event of the festival offers ₱10, 000 buy-in and ₱100,000 buy-in for the Single Day High Roller tournament.

PokerStars Festival Marbella

The other tournament, organized by PokerStars is the emblematic Marbella. It appears on the schedule of the casino operator on 19th June and it will end on 25th June. The long-awaited stop in the Spanish resort Marbella is expected to gather players from all over the world, as every year till now. The Marbella festival will open with PokerStars MegaStack event with a buy-in of €170.

Next on the schedule appears the Main Event, which is said to offer guaranteed prize pool of €700,000 and a buy-in for the event €1,100.

As every festival, the High Roller Event is an integral part of the schedule. It offers €200,000 guaranteed prize pool and €2,200 buy-in. What is more is the Marbella Poker Cup Event, which appears on the schedule on 23rd June and the winner will be announced on 25th June. The prize pool of the event is reported to be €100,000 guaranteed, featuring a buy-in of €330.

Besides No Limit Hold’em, players will be given the opportunity to try their hands in Pot Limit Omaha variation of the game. To involve in some of the poker tables, players should bring their passports in order to legitimize. This is a necessary requirement, alongside the buy-in.

888 MAX London

The first poker tournament, organized by 888, to take place in June will start on 1st and will continue for 4 days in total. The event will be hosted in London at Aspers Casino. It is expected that the casino will be packed with poker players, who would like to join the 888 No Limit Hold’em poker tables. The buy-in is announced to be £110 and all the players will be given 28,000 in chips. The players will compete for the guaranteed prize pool of £28,000.

The tournament is split into 3 flights and the Final Day. Every table will be occupied by 8 players, where the blinds will increase the level in every 30 minutes.

Partypoker Million Germany

The poker event, organized by partypoker will kick off on 2nd June with the opening satellite events and the winner of the tournament will be announced on 5th June. The most long-anticipated events are the High Roller and partypoker Million Day, because these offer significant prize pools. The players can either win their seat on the tables of the High Roller Event and partypoker Million Day or take the shortcut and just pay the buy-in. The partypoker Million Day is the event, which offers the highest prize pool in the whole tournament, and namely €1,000,000. It is followed by the High Roller Event, which offers € 200,000.

The tournament will practically continue for 2 days, where the Day 1 can be played both online at the official website of partypoker or live. Day 2, which starts on 4th June, will be played only live at King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. The buy-in is announced to be €1,100. The poker tables will feature No Limit Hold’em poker variation.

Partypoker Grand Prix UK

The other notable tournament, organized by partypoker is Grand Prix UK, which will take place from 17th to 25th June in Dusk Till Dawn poker club in Nottingham. The players will be provided with the chance to compete for the prize pool of the Main Event, which is said to be as high as £1,000,000. Unexpectedly, the buy-in for the Opening Event is £220. The players can also win their seats on the poker tables by competing in the online satellites.

What is most interesting in this tournament is that the first 100 players, who qualified for Day 2 will receive a Golden Chip. The holders, who reach the final table of the Main Event will benefit from a special package, worth $10,000 as additional to the other winnings of the event.

The cherry on top is the Grand Prix UK Main Event, which attracts not only with the high prize pool, but also with the free seats on the Million Nottingham this September, which prize is estimated to be £1,100.

What is specific for this tournament is that Day 1 can be played online or live in certain casinos in the UK. But Day 2 will start on 23rd June and it is available only for live play.


The coming of June will open new horizons for the poker enthusiasts to try their skills on the poker table. Some of the poker festivals have turned into a traditional part of the casino gambling hubs, taking into account that they are held on regular basis.
