Shuttered Atlantic City Revel Reopens This Summer

Revel Casino, located in the East Side gambling hub Atlantic City, New Jersey has been officially purchased by its new owner Bruce Deifik. The Colorado developer placed his signature on the deal amounting to some $200 million and it seems like the future holds exciting opportunities for the failed casino location. Mr. Deifik has even appointed a new name for the shuttered gambling venue and as it was confirmed, it is going to go by the name of Ocean Resort Casino. The new ownership, as well as the change of the name, are expected to guarantee good fortune to the facility and bring it back to life.

The name of Mr. Deifik is not unknown in the gambling industry in the states, as he has been a property owner in Las Vegas for many years now. This is because he is the founder of Integrated Properties, which is based in the state of Denver. This Monday brought the news that the purchase deal has been finally inked and Mr. Deifik has bought the Revel from the Florida-based developer Glenn Straub. It has been confirmed that the $2.4 billion casino venue is now owned by the Colorado-based developer and this marks a significant step forward for the site.

What Happened With Revel So Far?

As it could be recalled, Revel welcomed its first guests back in 2012 expecting a lot of interest towards it. Being the tallest building in the seashore town and boasting an entirely reflective surface, as well as world-known singer and performer Beyoncé as its headliner, the Revel had a lot of potential. However, in reality, things did not go as expected and after two filings for bankruptcy, the location had no other choice but to close for business for an indefinite period of time. Later in 2016, the site was purchased by Mr. Straub for some $82 million who also came up with a well-structured plan for action which was going to see the Revel completely refurbished and rebranded.

Unfortunately, the reality turned out to be different than his plans and no action has been taken. Until now, when Mr. Deifik has confirmed that the Revel is going to resume operation under the new name. All 1,400 rooms available for customers of the resort will be renovated and this is going to happen in a timely manner. The official launch of the Ocean Resort Casino should happen by this summer, finally putting an end to the long waiting. This will also result in up to 3,000 new job positions being opened for people in the region, which is also something everyone eagerly anticipated.

There will also be some new additions to the venue which aim to improve the customer experience. The founder of Integrated Properties stated that under construction there is an Asian noodle bar targeting a large number of Asian customers, as well as a high-stakes patrons’ club, which is expected to welcome high rollers from around the world. The gaming area of the location will boast as many as 100 table games and a total of 2,200 slot machines.
