Twin River Casino Operator to Look for Tiverton Employees

The residents of Tiverton, Rhode Island will soon have the opportunity to become part of the development process of the new Twin River integrated casino venue, as the casino operator recently confirmed that in the following months there will be several job fairs aiming to find people wanting to work at the new gaming and hospitality location. The casino is being built on William S. Canning Boulevard and as it was confirmed this month, the project is expected to be finalized by October next year.

In order to find staff for the casino and the hotel which is going to welcome its first guests next fall, the management of Twin River is going to organize a total of 5 job fairs over the span of five months and the first one is scheduled on 9th December. All of the organized career events are going to take place at the construction office of the company which is located at 15 William S. Canning Blvd., very close to the town line with Fall River. There will also be a job fair for the community at Aquidneck Island on 17th February. Even though the expos are going to take place at the beginning of 2018, some of the shortlisted candidates will be able to start working immediately.

As confirmed by Patti Doyle, Spokesperson for the Twin River Management Group, the Twin River Lincoln casino venue is going to provide a part of the candidates with a workplace until they are completely trained. This will give them the chance to gain the necessary experience in order to provide the guests and customers of the Tiverton hotel and casino with the adequate customer service. The good news adds up to the confirmed job fairs and makes for a well-rounded preparation process leading up to the launch date of the location.

Timeline of the Tiverton Project

It could be recalled that back in 2015, when the campaign for a new casino location first started and the project was still being debated, the operator gave a promise that there will be job fairs arranged for Tiverton residents only. The fact that the location will provide jobs for hundreds of people definitely helped the citizens to make their voice heard and they did that through a referendum question. Abiding by the state law, the community of the state had to approve the question which gave the company a permission to relocate its gaming license. The former venue was Newport Grand, owned by Twin River, whereas the new one is the facility in Tiverton.

In the plans for the new Twin River casino, it is listed that the gambling venue will have as many as 1,000 slot machines on offer, as well as 30 table games. In addition, there will be several restaurant offerings and a hotel with 84 rooms available for booking. As much as $140 million will be invested in the construction process of the new integrated casino, according to information regarding the economic impact of the project which was published this Tuesday.
