Sacramento Native American Tribe to Develop New Casino Resort

Sacramento, California is on the verge of building a new casino venue since the Governor recently signed a new Assembly Bill granting the Wilton Rancheria Miwok Tribe the permission to do so. The new casino facility is going to be constructed in Elk Grove and the project is estimated to cost about $400 million to its developer. This puts an end to the rivalry which has been going on around the casino venue in the recent years.

Assembly Bill 1606 gives the nod for construction of the new casino and Governor Jerry Brown agreed to entrust the Wilton Rancheria Miwok Tribe with the responsibility to operate the gambling location. This Tuesday marks the day when the Native American tribe received the official permission to build on a 36-acre patch of tribal land near Sacramento. The location is in Elk Grove along Highway 99, which is a well-known developing area aiming to turn into a casino resort. This means that it has been carefully chosen and the developers are striving to attract more customers and players to that part of the Sacramento County. Jim Cooper, a member of the Assembly, stated that the ratification is welcomed with open arms by the community in Sacramento and it is expected to improve the overall situation in Elk Grove.

What the Future Holds for Elk Grove

According to the project, the new integrated resort is going to feature many attractive offering for its guests, among which a hotel with 12 stories and 302 premium hotel rooms available for booking. In addition to this, there is going to be a pool, a spa, a convention center which could be used for various meetings and events. As for the entertainment side of the location, it will be provided by the six restaurants and bars, as well as the 110,260-square-foot casino floor. The whole project is going to provide more than 1,600 construction jobs while the site is being built, as well as another 1,750 full-time positions in the casino venue and the hotel. There will also be about 3,000 other work positions which are in some way related to the construction and operational process.

This has been one of the strongest arguments in favor of the integrated resort construction. The region is known to need more development and this new location will provide thousands of people with the desired job position they have been searching for. In order to facilitate the access to the site and the infrastructure in the area, the Wilton Rancheria Miwok Tribe also confirmed that it is planning to invest as much as $180 million in the span of the next 20 years for the improvement of traffic. Another branch which will benefit from the investment is the educational one since many schools will receive money, as well as the community – the tribe plans to raise the awareness towards public safety.
