World Poker Tour Kicks Off South Korea Festival this September

The World Poker Tour is returning for another tournament series in South Korea this autumn. The Asian country will welcome the prestigious poker tournament this September and will give poker players from around the world the chance to lay their hands on the spectacular prizes the World Poker Tour has on offer.

The end of September will bring lots of emotions and good experience to poker pros, that will gather for one of the most significant poker festivals. They will have the opportunity to be welcomed as guests of the Grand Jeju Paradise Hotel and Casino which will host the big event. The official date listed on the site says that the World Poker Tour Korea is going to commence on 24th September and it is scheduled to continue until the 30th. As with every big poker festival of the World Poker Tour the South Korean one is going to have a Main Event boasting big prizes for the top positions on the leader board.

The culmination of the poker festival will be the said Main Event which will feature a KRW1.5 million (about US$1,300) buy-in. It will take place from 26th September to the last day of the festival, 30th September. As it became known, the guaranteed prize pool for the Main Event of the World Poker Tour Korea will amount to KRW200 million (approximately US$175,000) and there will also be two starting flights on Day 1.

Each starting flight gives the opportunity of one-time re-entry per each player. It also allows them, for the period when registration is open, the option to buy in or re-enter on Day 2. In order to make everything regarding the process of re-entering as fair as possible, the World Poker Tour Korea Main Event allows a maximum of five entries per player taking part in the festival. Day 1A of the World Poker Tour Korea Main Event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 26th September, while Day 1B follows closely on Wednesday, 27th September. Both of the starting flights of the Main Event are going to begin at 1p.m. local time in Jeju.

The World Poker Tour Korea tournaments are going to give the poker players the chance to qualify for the World Poker Tour Asia-Pacific Player of the Year leader board for Season XVI and boost their position in the chart. There are also other poker tournaments which the players are anticipating. One of them is the World Poker Tour Korea High Roller, which features a buy-in of KRW6 million (US$5,250), which will take place on 25th September at 2p.m. The other significant tournament is the World Poker Tour Korea Monster Stack No-Limit Hold’em, with a buy-in of KRW1 million (US$875), scheduled for 30th September.
