New Circa Resort & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas Set to Open Ahead of December 2020 Schedule

The new Circa Resort & Casino is to be opened in the downtown area of Las Vegas on October 28th, revealed US real estate developer Derek Stevens. The venue’s opening is to come two months ahead of the initially planned release date, as the iconic city is trying to compensate for the negative impact that the coronavirus shutdown has had on it.

The Circa Resort & Casino will be the first new casino built from scratch in the downtown part of Las Vegas in four decades. The 777-room hotel tower of the resort is set to be officially opened later in 2020.

Mr. Stevens revealed that the developers were forced to redirect some funds to complete the lower floors of the project first because of some limits associated with the coronavirus crisis and explained such a move was not in the original plan. He, however, explained that the fact that they would be able to open the casino and its adjacent restaurants two months earlier was a huge bonus.

Downtown Las Vegas has been experiencing some revitalization lately because of the remodeling of existing properties, including the D Las Vegas (formerly known as Fitzgeralds) and the Golden Nugget, which traditionally attract younger customers and budget-conscious travelers. The tourism sector in the city, however, suffered a massive blow because of the coronavirus pandemic that saw Nevada’s casino industry close for almost three months, with the shutdown starting in March. The state’s casino venues started reopening on June 4th, but for the time being, most of their visitors are still local residents.

The New Resort and Casino in Las Vegas to Partially Open on October 28th

As revealed by the developer, the Circa Resort & Casino will host a total of 1,350 slot machines over a two-story casino. Furthermore, Mr. Stevens has previously announced that the venue is to feature the largest sportsbook on a global scale. Casino owners have been counting on the sports betting option, hoping that people would remain willing to attend the casino to place bets on their favorite sports teams.

The owners of the casino resort, which is situated on 1.25 million square feet, previously planned an official opening of the property in December 2020. Now, they revealed that its first five floors of amenities and its parking hub, which Mr. Stevens called “Garage Mahal”, will be launched ahead of schedule. The Circa Resort & Casino is set to have approximately 1,000 employees upon completion.

The developer shared that 2020 has so far been unpredictable for the entire world and all businesses and industries on a global scale. Mr. Stevens, however, praised the efforts of his partners from Tré Builders and McCarthy Building Companies Inc., who made it possible for the owners to accelerate the process and have an early opening ahead of the initial December 2020 date.
