Las Vegas Authorities Give Nod to Proposed Fremont Street Casino Resort

A brand new casino resort is well on its way to be developed in Las Vegas after it received the green light it needed in order to proceed ahead. This Wednesday witnessed an official approval of the new project which would completely transform the area of Fremont Street. Said region is able to provide equal entertainment potential as Las Vegas Strip bringing more to the tourists.

Las Vegas might be known as a booming region when it comes to its gambling offerings and the major concerts it hosts on a daily basis, but its wide range of options is not limited to Las Vegas Strip only. The most renown boulevard in the region is also home of many of the worldwide famous integrated resorts with spectacular design, locations seen in movies, but there are also other equally successful areas of the city.

Fremont Street is one of them since it has leading names on offer to the liking of Golden Gate Hotel and Casino, Golden Nugget Las Vegas, and The D Casino and Hotel. This new project that received approval is set to bring innovation to the area as it is going to be the first resort construction from scratch in the past several years. This Wednesday the new project received a nod from Las Vegas City Council which essentially propels ahead construction process on site.

The developer of the project is Derek Stevens, who also oversees the operation of The D Casino and Hotel. According to the legal documents submitted a couple of months back, he is set to be the owner and Chief Executive Officer of the new casino resort which would utilize a recently emptied lot.

It could be recalled that in 2015 Mr. Stevens and his brother Greg Stevens purchased the land for construction on which Las Vegas Club and Mermaids Casinos and Glitter Gulch Topless Club were rising only to have them demolished and clear space for the new casino resort.

Construction Work Set to Commence Soon

This happened last year, giving the developer enough time to then introduce a proposal to the Las Vegas Planning Commission and have it reviewed. When the submission of plans happened, it became known that the developer is looking forward to constructing a hotel tower featuring as many as 777 rooms and suites accompanied by a 118,000-square-foot gambling facility. In addition to that, the new casino resorts will feature a parking garage which is expected to significantly alleviate the current parking situation in the downtown area.

The construction site is located in the vicinity of Golden Gate Hotel and Casino, projected to bring more tourists to the area, attracted by the premium offerings the new casino resort features. For the time being a name for the location has not been announced, as that would happen in the upcoming months. Earlier this year the developer made it clear that he would want it to bear the overall vintage spirit of Las Vegas, transporting guests into the glamorous realm of historical Las Vegas.

The project is expected to be finished just in time for the major wave of new casino resorts which are currently being built in Las Vegas. Among them are long-anticipated facilities such as the spherical performance venue currently constructed by Madison Square Garden, bringing a full-encompassing sound experience to music enthusiasts, and Wynn Resorts’ Paradise Park featuring a convenient boardwalk spanning over a mile.

The year 2020 is also set to witness the official launch of a new $1.9-billion the Raiders stadium aiming to provide yet another non-gaming offering to the area. With the help of expansion and fervent development, that year is set to bring the largest number of new projects since 1993, when iconic locations such as MGM Grand Hotel and Luxor Hotel and Casino launched operation. New offerings are always appreciated by tourists, bringing innovation and a breath of fresh air to the region.
